Věra Krmašová, Joanna Linkiewicz

Hygiena 2023, 68(4):122-124 | DOI: 10.21101/hygiena.a1845

Not only the lay public but also professional public often confuses disciplines of physiotherapy and massage therapy even though there are clear differences both in professional content and in the legal framework and education system. Physiotherapy is a medical discipline that deals with diagnosis and therapy of functional disorders of the locomotor system. Massage is a service and includes a set of massage procedures which should result in eased muscles and general relaxation. This article attempts to clearly define both fields and their differences and to set the limits which a massage therapy provider should not exceed in practice.

REPORT FROM PRACTICE

Risk assessment and management of drinking water supplies

Petr Kavalír

Hygiena 2023, 68(4):134-136 | DOI: 10.21101/hygiena.a1846

As a result of the amended Public Health law, a team was dispatched to the Chrudim water company to assess the systemic risks posed from water supplied by this company. Risk analysis yielded a rapid solution to eliminating relatively easily solvable risks. A priority was the immediate resolution of unacceptable risk factors, or their transformation into acceptably manageable risks. A number of investments, both annual and longterm, were approved by the owners of the company.
