Ageing Policy in the Czech Republic

Presented is a review of the state and development of demographic changes that are leading to the ageing of the population in the Czech Republic. Analyzed are factors that may be important for the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly (economic activities, education, etc.) and presented are measures taken by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs for resolving those problems. In this connection pointed out are Act No.108/2006 Dig. on social services, the national program of preparation for ageing for the period of 2008 through 2012 "Quality of Life in Old Age", Strategy of Lifelong Education, and other documents.
