Environmental and Life Style Risk Factors of Colorectal Carcinoma. Questionnaire Inquiry

A data base containing 1,000 questionnaires was collected, which included data from patients suffering from lung, colorectal and breast cancer. Data collection was performed by a method of focused interview, which was performed by trained health workers. This study recognized all ethical requirements, including informed consent.
In this sample, a diagnosis of colorectal carcinoma was found in men (N=117) and women (N=67) in comparison with the control, non-oncological group, which included men (N=36) and women (N=67). Aside from the expected risk factors as, e.g. age, or genetic predisposition, additional statistically significant associations were found relating to personal and family history, and with regard to food consumption choices.
